Introduction

Part 4 of this course focuses on how to build better outcomes in accountability work. In this final section, we will:

  • Reflect on who accountability is for, and if it matters if accountability is performed for others.
  • Describe specific ways people avoid full, meaningful accountability.
  • Define failed, stalled and incomplete accountability processes.
  • Outline the roles in the Drama Triangle and how they may show up in accountability work.
  • Examine what factors support accountability work going well.
  • Introduce the three levels of identity where accountability work can be (re)focused.
  • Explore potential ways to recover an accountability process when it is failing, stalled, or incomplete.
  • Discuss how to set reasonable expectations for those involved and invested in a process.
  • Explore how openness and disclosure can be indicative of meaningful accountability.
  • Practice synthesizing all the information from the course by creating practice accountability plans.
