Welcome!
Welcome to Cultivating Accountability!
Accountability practices are a crucial aspect of a consent practice. Accountability processes and pods are specific practices that have great potential to repair relationships and strengthen communities. At the same time, they can be very time, labor, and resource intensive methods of creating accountability with plenty of risks associated with them. Cultivating Accountability explores the skills and knowledge needed to increase your chances of a successful accountability process or pod, whether you are participating in or facilitating them.
Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to engage in reflection and exercises that address critical questions like:
Do you believe people who cause harm can change? How do they do it? How do we know what actually needs to change, if anything? How can they repair the harm they caused? Can they ever rebuild trust with their community?
How do we balance the needs and demands of the person harmed with the well-being and growth of the person who caused harm?
What if nothing has really gone wrong (yet) but we know there are behaviors we want to change?
Do you have a group of people you trust to help you take accountability? How can people provide support and structure for accountability work?
How do we keep track of accountability work, or know when a process is finished?
Whether you are seeking personal growth, community healing, or professional development, this course offers valuable insights and strategies to guide you on your path towards meaningful accountability and sustainable relationships.
What is Consent Academy?
Consent Academy is an educational collective founded in 2016 in Seattle, WA, currently with staff and volunteers all over the world. We believe consent is a part of everyday life, and its practice builds stronger, safer, and more connected communities. Our approach incorporates disciplines of psychology, sociology, public health, psychotherapy, and personal coaching to create a systemic view of how consent impacts everyone, from the bedroom to the boardroom.
Consent Academy is a program of the Pan Eros Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization. For more information, visit us at www.consent.academy.
Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments! We would love to know why you decided to take the course, what part of the world you're joining from, and/or where you heard about us.
